NMI Disciplinary Proceedings
If the complaint procedure is not concluded successfully, the plaintiff can file a case with an independent Disciplinary Board. Its task is, to decide whether the mediator has or has not offended the Code of Conduct. The Disciplinary Board will follow a formal procedure. It has the authority to impose disciplinary measures. In case the mediator indeed has offended any article of the Code of Conduct, the measures can vary from a simple warning to removal from the NMI Register of Mediators. The disciplinary rules provide the possibility of appeal with an Appeal Board. Decisions of the Appeal Board are final.
